Hide and seek

Trees, platform, ceramics, found objects, 8-channel audio
Addressing the themes of fear and anxiety, I focus on the physical sensation that arises in moments of unease — the embodied state of fear itself. This feeling resembles being inside a long, narrow corridor with no visible exit.

Reflecting this “corridor-like” condition, I create a path — a trail the viewer can walk through to enter the space of anxiety. The corridor has a floor: a carpeted path bordered by a low wooden trim, winding indirectly forward.

Walls made of intertwined branches obstruct movement, brushing against the body and preventing any sense of safety.

Light filters through the gaps, revealing only fragmented glimpses of the surroundings — blurred silhouettes and rustling sounds.

Among the branches appear fungi, furry tails, and empty feeders — traces of both decay and life intertwined. These details heighten the feeling of unease and uncertainty.

Sounds of footsteps, knocks, and rustles echo through different parts of the space,
creating the presence of something unseen and intensifying the bodily experience of fear.
